easter baking

Happy Easter everyone! I thought I would post a day early this week so I could do an Easter baking blog. I included 2 recipes in this which I love to make around the Easter time.
The first thing we will be making is Shredded Wheat chocolate Easter nests, I've made these almost every Easter ever since I was a child so Easter doesn't feel complete without having these.
For this recipe all you will need is some chocolate, any will do but I would recommend using Cadbury's but just choose your favourite kind of chocolate, plain Shredded Wheat and Cadbury's Mini Eggs.
The first thing you need to do is break up your chosen chocolate into small chunks.
You will then need to put this into a bowl over boiling water and wait for it to melt, it must all be melted to be able to make the nests.
Whilst the chocolate is melting take some Shredded Wheat, I only used 2 bars but I should've used more to make them more nest like.
You then need to crumble the Shredded Wheat into tiny pieces so it looks like small twigs for a birds nest.
Once your chocolate is melted and you've crumbled your Shredded Wheat, you will need to mix these together to form a chocolatey mixture.
Once you have this mixture you will need to scoop it into some cupcake cases and try to make them dip a little in the middle to make them appear more like nests.
The next part of this is to take your Mini Eggs and place 2-3 inside the small dip. All you then need to do is pop them in the fridge for about 2 hours until the chocolate is set and then they're ready to eat.
The next recipe is Creme Egg brownies, I love brownies so much so when it comes to Easter there is nothing better than having Creme Eggs with them. For this recipe you will need:
185g Dark Chocolate
185g Butter
85g Plain Flour
40g Cocoa Powder
3 Eggs
275g Caster Sugar
6 Cadbury Creme Eggs
You will then need to pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees/gas mark 4
You must start by melting the chocolate and the butter in a bowl over boiling water
You will then need to take a separate bowl and whisk the sugar and the eggs together, when you've done this the mixture should be pale in colour.
Once the chocolate and butter has melted and you've whisked your sugar and eggs together you will then need to combine these ingredients to form a chocolate mixture. Make sure that the butter and chocolate has cooled down before mixing it in or otherwise it will begin to cook the eggs, I found that the easiest way to do this was to pop it in the fridge for a little bit before mixing it in with the sugar and eggs.
After this you will need to sieve in the flour and mix this in.
You must then complete the same step with the cocoa powder.
Once this is all mixed together you need to take a lined baking tray and pour your mixture into the baking tray and put it into the oven for 20 minutes.
Whilst your brownies are in the oven you will need to cut the creme eggs in half, this can be quite difficult because as you can see mine fell apart a bit so make sure you're using a sharp knife.
After your brownies have been in the oven for 20 minutes, take them out and place the creme eggs on the top with equal distance. Try and place them so you will get one creme egg with every slice. When you've done this put the brownies back in the oven for a further 15 minutes or until they're cooked throughout.

I hope you all have an amazing Easter and eat lots of chocolate. Also, I hope you have a go at some of these recipes and enjoy making them.
